BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A fight and a shooting at a birthday party sent two men to the hospital early Saturday morning.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says 20-30 people were involved in the fight in the 300 block of West Pole Road south of Lynden.
A man in his 20’s was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center after witnesses say he was beaten by other party-goers.
The man reportedly tried to defend himself, firing several rounds from a hand gun and possibly hitting one person.
When deputies arrived a group of people sped away in a white Honda and crashed on the Guide Meridian roundabout at Ten Mile Road.
One of the men in the Honda was taken to the hospital for a gunshot wound in his leg.
Deputies are withholding names until their investigation is complete.
