MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Two Mount Vernon residents were injured when the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree.
The State Patrol says 76-year-old William Perrella was driving westbound on Arlington Heights Road in Snohomish County early Tuesday morning when his car drifted off the roadway and collided with a large tree.
Perrella and his passenger, 71-year-old Judith Betten, were transported to Cascade Hospital for treatment.
Troopers say alcohol or drugs were involved and the accident remains under investigation.
