SEATTLE, Wash. — Personnel from the U.S. Army helped fight the so-called “Superbowl Flood.”
Flood fighters from the Seattle District U.S. Army Corps are providing materials and assistance in the Skagit, Nooksack, and Snohomish river basins.
Seattle District crews were working to extend the length of a buried rock trench in Lyman to reinforce the upstream channel bank along the Skagit River.
A flood team is diking District 12 in the Skagit basin to place rock to protect infrastructure at Strawberry Point near Burlington.
And the Seattle District provided sandbags and supersacks to Ferndale and Skagit and Whatcom Counties.
