WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S.-Canada border closure has been extended for a 13th time due to COVID-19.
Canadian Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair tweeted Tuesday morning that the border will remain closed to non-essential travel until at least May 21.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security also confirmed the news in a tweet Tuesday.
The international border has now been closed for 14 consecutive months in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
