TACOMA, Wash. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than $1.5 million worth of counterfeit items at the Port of Tacoma May 1st.

The CBP says the merchandise, including high-end handbags under the name of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Gucci and Fendi, was of poor quality.

CBP officers say some companies have made billions selling counterfeit and pirated goods, which is why they encourage trademark and copyright holders to register with them online to help officers spot fakes.
