SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. (AP) — The U.S. Supreme Court is asking Washington State’s Supreme Court to take another look at a land dispute between the Upper Skagit Tribe and its neighbors.
The dispute concerns a plot of land purchased by the tribe in 2013.
A neighboring couple sued over a disputed fence but the tribe argued it was immune from the suit.
The State Supreme Court sided with the couple but the U.S. Supreme Court said its reasoning was flawed.
