Unity Care awarded funding to expand COVID-19 testing

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County’s COVID-19 testing capacity just got a major boost.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded more than $20-million to 27 health centers in Washington to expand testing.

$420,000 of the funding will go to Unity Care Northwest, who has several locations throughout Bellingham and Ferndale.

These investments build upon the $1.42-billion awarded to health centers to address COVID-19, which will bring the Trump Administration’s total COVID-19 investment in health centers to nearly $2-billion.
