BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham’s homeless encampment will have a new location this spring.

According to a post on the HomesNOW! Facebook page, Bellingham Mayor Seth Fleetwood has directed his staff to find a site for the nonprofit to move their encampment to.

Rather than shutting down after their Fairhaven lease is up in April, Unity Village will be moved to a new spot.

HomesNOW! co-founder Doug Gustafson says he does not know where the homeless encampment will move, but the organization has inquired about city-owned land on the former Clean Green site at Lakeway and Woburn.
