MOUNT VERNON, Wash – An unsafe motorcycle lane change on I-5 resulted in a totaled bike and car, and trips to the hospital for three people.

The Washington State Patrol says Amy Harrison, 42, of Marysville was driving her Canam Roadster motorcycle northbound on I-5 into south Mount Vernon at rush hour Friday afternoon when she veered into the right lane and was hit a by a Prius driven by Katherine McEldowney, 25, of Mount Vernon.

Harrison, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Harborview along with Brendan Wold of Marysville, who was a passenger in McEldowney’s car.

McEldowney was taken to Skagit Valley Hospital; no charges were filed.
