Whatcom County, Wash. – The Burnout Road Fire continues to burn across about 60 acres on Chuckanut Mountian at the Whatcom/Skagit County line.
Fire spokesman Michael Krueger said Thursday morning that crews have been making progress against the fire and they hope to have it controlled in the next few days.
He says the fire isn’t burning the entire 60 acres, but is more a mosaic of fires.
DNR crews are cutting fire lines, a helicopter is dropping water and South Whatcom Fire crews are standing watch over several homes that are still threatened by the flames.
