MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – There were reports of shots fired from the Blackburn I-5 overpass in Mount Vernon Wednesday morning.
State Patrol Trooper Heather Axtman says people reported that a person dressed all in black fired several shots before fleeing at about 9:30 A.M..
She says no vehicles were hit and no one was hurt.
She says it’s not considered an active shooter situation.
State Patrol and Mount Vernon Police are looking for a possible suspect but haven’t found anyone yet.

The investigation into reports of shots fired and a man with a gun on an I-5 overpass in Mount Vernon Wednesday morning has come up empty.
As a precaution, State Patrol closed I-5 for about ten minutes until it was determined there was no risk to commuters.
The Mount Vernon Police Department received no reports of injuries or property damage.
There has been no evidence to confirm the report of shots fired and the investigation continues.
