A fire caused damage to multiple downtown Bellingham businesses Wednesday night. It started just next door to the burned remains of Hohl’s Feed and Seed.
Hohl’s burned down in February after a homeless man started a fire in the back of the building to keep warm.
Dave Pethick with the Bellingham Fire Department says a fire at Clark’s Feed and Seed started just before 7:30 Wednesday night and quickly became a 3-alarm fire.
He says two other businesses were damaged — Avalon Records next door and Vienna Cleaners around the corner.
A video posted on Avalon’s Facebook page shows extensive damage to the record shop with the caption “a total loss.”
Vienna Cleaners says while there is smoke and water damage to the building, no clothes were damaged in the fire.
Currently, one lane of northbound traffic is getting by in the parking lot on Railroad Avenue.
