According to The Seattle Times, the Huskies have added guard Hameir Wright out of Albany New York. Wright is a consensus four-star prospect from Albany. He is ranked 72nd nationally by Rivals, 80th by ESPN and 89th by Scout among 2018 prospects.

“I am honored to announce my commitment to Coach Hop and the University of Washington,” Wright posted on his Twitter account along with pictures of him wearing a No. 24 purple UW jersey and posing with the Husky coaching staff.

Wright is a 6’8, 205-pound small forward. Percy Allen for the Times reports that Wright had intended to play for Brewster Academy in New Hampshire next season. Wright also reported received offers from Villanova, Maryland, Michigan State, Miami and Syracuse, which is where coach Mike Hopkins was an assistant coach for 21 years before being hired at UW.
