SEATTLE, Wash. — Peak bloom for the University of Washington’s cherry trees is expected next week, but they’d rather tourists didn’t come to campus.

Usually the campus gets large crowds of visitors taking pictures of the cherry blossoms around campus, especially in the Quad where 29 trees are growing.

After Governor Inslee banned gatherings of more than 250 people, KIRO reports the school asked people to avoid campus.

UW cancelled in-person classes and begins classes solely online Monday.
