The Washington Huskies have completed their recruiting for 2017 with the signing of Nahziah Carter, the nephew of rapper and music producer Jay Z. The 6-5 swingman confirmed his commitment to play for the Dawgs and new coach Mike Hopkins this season on social media.

Carter posted photos on Twitter of himself in a Husky uniform. He wrote in the post this weekend. “University of Washington recruit. Better late than never”.

Carter, originally from Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester, New York, signed with Dayton last November. He re-entered recruitment after Flyers coach Archie Miller accepted the head coaching job at Indiana.

The Scout.com 4-star recruit joins Garfield High School guard Jaylen Nowell in the 2017 Washington recruiting class. Hopkins also got commitments from guards Nate Pryor from West Seattle and Michael Carter III who graduated from O’Dea in 2016.
