First year Washington Husky men’s basketball coach Mike Hopkins will face a tough non-conference test early in the coming season. UW announced late last week the Huskies will play perennial Big 12 power Kansas on Wednesday, December 6th in Lawrence, Kansas.
According to the university release, the contest will be played at the Sprint Center with game time, TV designation and ticket information to be announced. The Huskies have not released their full non-conference schedule.
Kansas went 31-and-5 last season, tying an NCAA record by winning their 13th straight Big 12 Title.
The Jayhawks won the last meeting with Washington, a 73-54 victory at the CBE Hall of Fame Classic at the Spirit Center on Nov. 24, 2008. Kansas holds an 8-1 record over the Huskies all time.
