SEATTLE, Wash. — The University of Washington said it will stop holding classes for nearly 60,000 students at its three campuses and instead offer online instruction to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Emerald City Comic Con becomes one of the first large events in Seattle to be postponed due to coronavirus.

ReedPop, the organizers of the event, say ticket-holders will get refunds in the next 30-days.

E-triple-C, which normally draws in nearly 100,000 people, will likely be delayed until sometime this summer but nothing is certain at this time.

Organizers say they’re following advice from local health agencies which recommend conventions be postponed for now.

Washington now has 19 deaths attributed to COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
