Washington defensive lineman Vita Vea has been named to the preseason watch list for Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award.  The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame announced the list Thursday.

The junior out of Milpitas, California was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection last year. He tallied 39 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 5 sacks for the Dawgs in 2016.

Vea has already been named to 2017 watch lists for the Outland Trophy, the Nagurski Trophy and the Bednarik Award.

The winner of the 2017 Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award will be announced on December 14, 2017. The presentation of the award is  January 19, 2018 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
