WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – All Whatcom County Superior Court employees now face a deadline to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Presiding Judge Robert Olson issued an order Friday, August 27th, requiring all full and part time workers and volunteers in the court system to be fully vaccinated by November 1st.
Medical and religious exemptions will be reviewed and granted or denied by the county’s Human Resources Department and reviewed by Judge Olson.
The court will make accommodations for those who are exempt, but they may include masking, regular testing and working remotely.
Olson’s order states that the Superior Court operates in a high risk environment and previous public health measures aren’t sufficient in light of the delta variant and an increase in cases.
