BELLINGHAM, Wash. —Â Vandals claiming to support the homeless expressed their anger at Bellingham by trashing Parks Department vehicles and buildings.
Workers arrived at the facility at Woburn and Lakeway Monday morning to find three buildings and nine vehicles spray painted with derogatory messages about homeless camp clean-ups and city officials.
Windows were broken and tires on some of the vehicles were slashed.
Locks were also damaged with Superglue and eggs were thrown at buildings and vehicles.
Bellingham Police Lieutenant Claudia Murphy points out the irony of that as she says the eggs represent food that could have been donated to people the vandals purport to help.
Murphy says damage will likely total well over $5000.
Anyone with information about those who may be responsible are asked to contact police.
