A Marysville man was booked into the Skagit Valley Community Justice Center on Sunday, for investigation into the death of a 61-year-old Mount Vernon man killed in a collision.

The Skagit Valley Herald reports the Mount Vernon police got a call about a two vehicle collision in the intersection of South 15th and Kincaid streets.

Lt. Greg Booth stated to the Skagit Valley Herald that initial investigation reveals a Marysville man was driving a pickup truck, when he allegedly ran through a stop sign. Then hitting the vehicle with the Mount Vernon man as a passenger.

In the collision the Mount Vernon man was seated behind the driver, and was ejected from the vehicle.

Officers attempted life saving procedures until medical cures arrived. The man was later declared dead at the scene.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
