REPUBLIC, Wash. — Jay Inslee’s Republican challenger still refuses to concede in the race for governor.

And now it appears Loren Culp has lost his day job as police chief of Republic, Washington.

He made the announcement in a Facebook live appearance yesterday.

Culp was the only member of the police department in the small town and the Ferry County Sheriff’s department has been handling security there while Culp campaigned.

KFLD in Pasco reports that the sheriff wanted to be reimbursed for those expenses and the town came up with the money by defunding its police department.

Culp claims there were some irregularities in the vote count for governor and he’s staying in until they’re resolved and all votes are counted.

Culp’s comments about conceding and Republic police being defunded start at 3:21 in the video below.
