WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – An SUV rolled off the Mount Baker Highway at Mile Post 53 Sunday and tumbled 243 feet down a steep embankment.

Dan Johnson of Johnson’s Towing says it may have been caused by a faulty “park” setting on the transmission.

He says two occupants were able to get out of the vehicle with just minor injuries before it went down the embankment.

Johnson’s crews retrieved the SUV on Monday.
