SEATTLE, Wash. – In a recent study, Frontier Communications reports eSports – competitive video game tournaments – are rising in popularity and Washington is among the top five states leading the charge.
Seattle held an international DotA 2 competition earlier this year, where teams from around the world played to win $24 million.
Media and tech consulting firm Activate estimates the eSports market will be worth $5 billion in 2020.
