BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Blaine man wanted by the state Department of Corrections on a warrant for escape was found in Bellingham on Friday, allegedly in possession of narcotics.

Sheriff Bill Elfo says deputies noticed 38-year-old Trevor Crawford seated in the driver seat of a vehicle parked at the AM-PM right off I-5 on Slater Road.

When they learned Crawford was wanted on a warrant for escape, deputies approached him and he fled on foot.

Deputies located and arrested Crawford and, in a search of the vehicle, found what looked like crack cocaine and heroin along with hundreds of dollars in cash.

He was booked into the Whatcom County Jail.
