NEW YORK — Washington residents must quarantine for 14 days after arriving in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut as COVID-19 activity spikes.

It’s one of 31 states on the quarantine list.

Governor Andrew Cuomo acknowledged that the quarantine is “imperfect” but said it could help protect the states against the risk of increased spread.

The governor’s office said 724 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized Monday — a figure that’s plunged since peaking in mid-April but has declined at a much slower rate since late June.
