BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Our state added almost 7,000 jobs last month while the unemployment rate tied a record low.

The private sector added the most jobs by far with 6,000 new jobs created.

Government added 900 positions.

Professional and business services saw the most growth, followed by transportation and construction.

Washington’s economy has added more than 105,000 new jobs since October 2016, with 91,000 created by the private sector.

The state unemployment rate dipped to 4.5 percent, matching the all-time low set earlier this year.
