OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Washington gets another temporary extension from the enforcement of federal driver’s license requirements.

The federal government says the state has until October 10th to get licenses and I-D cards up to federal standards.

They need to have security enhancements and be issued to people who can prove they are in the U-S legally.

The legislature passed a bill this year that should bring the state into compliance with federal regulations.
