OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington State is getting more than $725,000 in grants to help with tsunami preparedness.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is awarding the money to the State Tsunami Program to help tsunami warning infrastructure, signage, outreach, education, evacuation and more.

Senator Maria Cantwell says the money will help “protect coastal communities by boosting our emergency warning infrastructure, helping fund emergency management, and determining which areas need more preparation.”
