OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington received $2 million to support parks, recreation, and new and ongoing conservation projects.
Ryan Zinke, U.S. Secretary of the Interior, announced a distribution Tuesday from the Land Water Conservation Fund, with $2,095,549 destined for Washington outdoor recreation and conservation projects.
This is part of a $100 million distribution from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to all 50 states, in addition to the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Northern Marianas, and Puerto Rico.
Money for the Land Water Conservation Fund comes from Outer Continental Shelf lease revenues and is not taxpayer derived.
