OLYMPIA, Wash. – People looking to change their healthcare plans can do so, but don’t put it off until the last minute.

The Washington Health Benefit Exchange allows people to compare and sign up for various health insurance plans for 2022.

Exchange spokesperson Michael Marchand says funding from the American Rescue Plan Act is a big help this year.

“The average subsidy amount which is determined by that household income and other factors is almost $400 per month,” says Marchand. “So that’s a pretty sizable chunk. What we’re also finding is that almost half of Washington Heathplan Finder customers today are paying less than $100 per month for their coverage.”

In order for a plan to take effect at the start of the year, a plan must be chosen by December 15th.
