OLYMPIA, Wash. – A citizen commission that sets elected officials’ salaries has voted to increase pay for Washington lawmakers by 2% annually for the next two years.
Currently, a rank-and-file member of the state Legislature makes just under $47,000 a year.
Their salaries will increase to almost $48,000 in September, and to just under $49,000 next year.
The salary commission also decided to give other statewide elected officials, including the governor and attorney general, raises of 1% per year.
