OLYMPIA, Wash. – The agency that licenses and regulates doctors and physicians’ assistants in Washington State is ready to discipline members who spread misinformation about COVID-19 and its prevention.
The Washington Medical Commission says practitioners who misrepresent prevention measures including vaccines and mask wearing will be subject to disciplinary action.
They could also be reprimanded for prescribing ivermectin or other non-approved treatments for COVID-19.
Patients concerned about a provider’s conduct can file a complaint with the commission.
The commission that regulates nurses in Washington has adopted a similar resolution.
