OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington state is pushing back against U-S Attrorney General Jeff Sessions’ move to crack down on states that have legalized marijuana…

Governor Inslee says the state’s law won’t be changed, and state Attorney General Bob Ferguson says he’s frustrated that Sessions won’t meet with state officials to discuss the laws.

Bellingham pot retailer Aaron Nelson says he is “heartened” by the state’s resistance to the policy change.

He says that while he doesn’t think a legal crackdown is imminent, he worries Sessions’ comments will make it even harder for the cannabis industry to work with banks and financial institutions.

Nelson is senior vice president of 20-20 Solutions, which has three stores in Bellingham.
