OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington’s unemployment rate dropped again in July, matching a historic low.
As the state’s economy added 12,400 jobs in July, the Employment Security Department says the state unemployment rate dropped to a seasonally adjusted 4.6% down from 4.7% in June.
The current national rate is 3.9%.
The biggest gains were seen in professional & business services, retail trade, wholesale trade, manufacturing and information.
Meanwhile, leisure and hospitality took the biggest hit with job losses.
