OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington state ranks among the highest states in U.S. for credit card debt.

KOMO reports Americans owed more than $1 trillion in credit card debt in 2022 according to WalletHub.

The website released a new ranking of all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Washington state ranked No. 3 in the country with a median credit card debt of $2,471.

Mississippi boasted the least credit card debt, with a median debt of $1,806.

The median time until payoff for Washingtonians is around 14 months.
