OLYMPIA, Wash. — Starting April 1st, households and businesses statewide can recycle leftover paint conveniently and sustainably.
PaintCare, a non-profit organization created by the paint industry, is providing over 200 drop-off sites statewide, including three Bellingham locations.
A small fee on the sale of new paint funds all aspects of the program, including collection, transportation, processing and public education.
There is no fee to drop off leftover paints, stains and varnishes.
Washington’s paint recycling program was made possible under the paint stewardship law passed by the Washington State Legislature in 2019.
