OLYMPIA, Wash – The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife has tips for fishers helping mop up the escaped farmed Atlantic Salmon that were released last weekend when the pen net containing them failed.
In a Facebook post, WDFW says to fish shallow waters near the shoreline, looking for finning and jumping fish, with spinners, buzz bombs or rotators.
A list of suggest locations is posted on the WDFW web site.
About 305,000 fish escaped from Cooke Aquaculture at Cypress Island Last weekend.
The Wild Fish Conservancy is bringing a lawsuit against the Canada-based company for alleged violations of the Clean Water Act.
