BELLINGHAM, Wash. – There is a chance to comment on a ban on wells that’s stopping some people from building their dream homes is Tuesday.
The state legislature can’t agree on a bill dealing with the so-called Hirst Decision, the State Supreme Court ruling out of Whatcom County on wells in rural areas.
That’s why the County Council is looking to extend a temporary moratorium on such wells.
The ban is stopping development in parts of the county.
Citizens can testify on the county’s response to the Hirst Decision at a public hearing at the courthouse.
