WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – After administering about 8,500 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, the Community Vaccination Center at Bellingham Technical College is scheduled to close.
The Whatcom County Health Department said it’s seeing a drop in demand at the center and the nursing students who have played a large role in staffing the center will be moving on soon, so it’s transitioning vaccination efforts to mobile and pop-up clinics.
The final two clinics, scheduled for June 16th and 17th, will offer the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
The clinic’s equipment will remain in place through the summer, allowing it to be reactivated quickly if there is a need for large-scale vaccination.
