LYNDEN, Wash. — The deadline to vote in the election for a Whatcom Conservation District Board seat has arrived.
Valeri Wade is challenging incumbent Theresa Sygitowicz.
Wade says she’s a U.S. Army veteran who is an environmental advocate with experience in agriculture and working with nonprofits.
Sygitowicz has been on the board since 2016 and has experience on a number of county boards and councils.
It’s too late for mail-in ballots, so all votes must be cast at the district’s headquarters at 6975 Hannegan Road (by the Rusty Wagon) between 9 AM and 6 PM Tuesday.
The board works with landowners, farmers, and the general public on issues related to natural resource conservation and the environment.
