Whatcom County 911 says goodbye to their long-time Deputy Director of the communications center.
Deputy Director Greg Erickson officially retired after 32 years of working as a public safety dispatcher, advanced to acting supervisor, and then Deputy Director.
Erickson witnessed technology vastly change from starting in 1989 with no cell phones to ending his career this year where text-to-911 is available.
Erickson’s dedication for this profession was tireless and his passion to help others was endless.
In a Facebook post, the What-Comm thanked Erickson for his service to the residents of Whatcom County.
