WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – We’re sneaking up on the halfway mark to getting Whatcom County residents fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The county Health Department says just over 48% of the local population has gotten a full dose while almost 55% have gotten at least one shot.

North and east county residents are still lagging behind in getting vaccinated.

Rates in the Mount Baker and Nooksack Valley School Districts are in the mid 30’s while Lynden is just over 41%.

The Meridian, Ferndale and Blaine districts are all over 50% and about 65% of Bellingham residents have gotten at least one dose.
