BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A burn ban goes into effect Friday morning at 8:00 AM.
The Whatcom County Fire Marshal’s Office is banning all land clearing and yard debris burning.
Recreational fires less than 3 feet in diameter in approved fire pits are fine.
Violators face possible criminal charges, a $250 fine, and being held financially responsible for the costs of fighting a blaze they cause.
