WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – There are a number of locations to go to today if you need to cool down.
Whatcom Fire District Seven and the City of Ferndale will hose you down with cool water today at 4 pm at Pioneer Park field.
They’ll also have free water and ice on hand.
Other locations around the county have opened their doors to people who need some air conditioning:
Bellingham High School Cafeteria – 10am to 8 pm today
All Whatcom County Libraries – 10am to 6pm today
WTA Station Downtown – 10 am to 6 pm today
Lighthouse Mission Ministries Base Camp – all day
Lynden Community and Senior Center – 1 pm to 7 pm today
North County Christ the King Church (Lynden) – noon to 8 pm today (free wifi)
Residents are warned to avoid outdoor work or activities, take measures to stay cool and check on vulnerable people and pets.
