Whatcom County could be hitting a new record… but it’s one we definitely want to avoid.
Deaths from car crashes have increased dramatically over the past decade and especially in 2017.
The Bellingham Herald reports over the past 10 years Whatcom has averaged about 15 lives lost due to traffic accidents.
But just in 2017, 20 people have died in crashes and there are still two months left this year.
Driver behavior is said to be responsible for nearly all the incidents.
