BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Whatcom County residents have the opportunity to voice their opinions to the County Council Tuesday night as it looks at adopting amendments that put the county in compliance with the Hirst fix.

The Council approved an emergency ordinance at their last meeting to repeal the moratorium on rural development on land that requires a well.

This came just after the state Legislature pushed through a fix on the Hirst decision that had affected permitting for wells.

The Council will hold a public hearing not long after the meeting starts at 7pm.
