WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Pro tip: if you’re trying to outrun the cops, don’t try to do it twice in one week.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that officers pulled a car over on West Hemmi Road last Thursday night, April 21st, around 6 p.m.

The driver, 30-year-old Aaron Nerkins, was arrested after officers found out he was driving with a suspended license.

His passenger, 38-year-old Silas Robbins, had fled from officers during a separate traffic stop on Tuesday, April 19th.

When officers told Robbins that there was a warrant out for his arrest, he got in the driver’s seat and sped off.

Officers followed the car for a distance before deploying spike strips and attempting a PIT maneuver.

Robbins eventually blew out one of the tires at the intersection of the Guide and Axton Road, at which point he attempted to escape on foot.

A K-9 unit tracked him down and he was finally arrested.

Robbins was booked into the Whatcom County Jail, but was later transferred to Department of Corrections custody.
