WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Whatcom County will host two flood recovery community meetings this week.

The first meeting will be held this Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nooksack Valley High School.

Another will be this Saturday from 10 a.m. until Noon at Pioneer Pavilion in Ferndale.

Representatives from FEMA, the State Division of Emergency Management, local elected officials and the Long-Term Recovery Group will all speak and be available for questions.

Topics will range from how to apply for assistance, when to expect to receive aid, what steps to take if assistance is denied, and help that might be available for unmet needs.

The meetings will be available online and masks are required for those attending in person.
