OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington is in for a hot, dry summer.
The Department of Ecology reports most parts of the state are experiencing moderate drought-like conditions.
The U.S. Drought Monitor shows Whatcom County is abnormally dry right now and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is forecasting drier and warmer than normal weather until the fall.
The Department of Ecology says storage reservoirs for drinking water and irrigation are still in good shape and they are not declaring a state of emergency at this time.
The agency is watching the situation closely.
